Job Offer: Research Associate (M/F) in the Field of Service Innovation

29.04.2015

The Chair for Information Systems at the Technische Universität München offers a job as Research Associate (M/F) in Service Innovation

Topic:

Innovative technologies such as augmented reality have been established for end users (e. g. for sports events, sales demonstration or advertising) and also in some highly specialized business contexts (e. g. surgery). But many, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often do not have the expertise or resources to evaluate new technologies and integrate these into their processes. Especially service-oriented processes are difficult to assess due to their immateriality, frequent customer-specific requirements and tacit knowledge in human-centered context. Human-centered services and technology-centered services require extensive links with existing value-added processes due to increasing product complexity and information support. For these reasons, much of the potential for process innovations remain unused especially by SMEs. The offered position will work on integrating innovative technologies in flexible service processes in industries including manufacturing and health care.

Your Tasks:

  • Participation in a research project on service innovation
  • Academic research and teaching assistance
  • Publication and presentation of research results

We offer:

  • Pleasant working environment
  • Young, interdisciplinary, and dynamic team
  • Rigorous and relevant scientific research
  • Modern working environment at the interface between research and industry
  • Innovative and new topics
  • Starting date: September 1st, 2015 (or upon agreement)

What qualifies you for our team/ this job:

  • An excellent Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Information Systems, Economics, Computer Science, Psychology, or related disciplines
  • Interest in design-oriented research and / or empirical social research
  • Teamwork, self-reliance, resilience, creativity and openness to work in an interdisciplinary project
  • Proficient oral and written German and English skills
